Project:
Stamps Landing Pub, False Creek,
Vancouver, BC

Client's need:
The expansion & renovation of a False Creek landmark pub, originally opened in 1974.

Design challenge:
To create an expanded, more functional facility incorporating a new central entrance & stair, new games room, relocation & upgrading of the kitchen as well as bringing the building in line with current accessibility & occupancy codes.

DH Designs' solution:

  • use of natural materials and colours to reflect the marina location & use as the local yacht club base.

  • create a sense of arrival by creating a new entrance & reconfiguring the plan to improve the traffic flow from the new entrance and between the various rooms of the pub.

  • complete re-design of the bar to make it more functional and visually appealing.

  • careful selection of lighting to improve the atmosphere of the pub & games room.
