The design brief called for the creation of a public market style environment to visually present a large variety of confection and related product. A major component of the design solution included the development of custom displays to maximize the amount of product on display, eliminating the need for storage of stock, while presenting the product to look like a market reminiscent of Granville Island in Vancouver and Pike Place in Seattle.
Additionally, the design solution included the use of natural materials and colours to reflect a market style and the graphic image created for the client. It incorporated custom millwork with standard confection display units and a careful selection of lighting enhanced the product and the image of the store.
